The following summaries are but a few examples of cases handled by our lawyers where we believe the results were quite good. To protect the confidentiality of our clients, we have not included names, but rather descriptions of the cases and results achieved.
Case #1. A Defective Pharmaceutical Case
This first case involves a client diagnosed with a severe lung condition. Prior to calling Doug Monsour, she had consulted with another law firm that advised her that they could not take her case. Doug immediately realized the severity of the case and agreed to take on the matter. Within nine months of being contacted by the client, an agreement was reached to settle the case for over $5,000,000 (the actual amount is confidential pursuant to the settlement agreement).
Case #2. A Defective Pharmaceutical Case
This case involves another client diagnosed with a severe lung condition. Again, prior to calling Doug Monsour, another lawyer (this one, one of the most successful lawyers in America) told the client she did not have a case because a recent test had made her claim invalid. After hearing this, Doug agreed to look at the medical records and consulted with one of his medical consultants. It appeared that the recent test was completely inconsistent with all previous tests. Accordingly, Doug had the client retested and her second test lined up perfectly with her previous tests, thereby establishing the legitimacy of her claims, and the fact that the previous disqualifying test had been performed improperly. Within six months, the case was settled for a confidential seven figure amount.
Case #3. Car Wreck Case
This case involves a man in his forties who, through no fault of his own, was hit by a vehicle trying to improperly cross traffic on the loop in Longview. The man had no health insurance and no money to pay for the massive medical bills he would incur in the future. Doug Monsour coordinated with his doctors to allow medical care to proceed, and the man received the finest medical care available. Ultimately, his case settled for $1,400,000.
Case #4. On the Job Injury (Industrial Setting)
This case involves a man who was injured on the job at a large manufacturing facility in Harrison County. Two other law firms had look at the case and told the man he had no case. Doug Monsour looked at the case and thought differently. Doug filed a case and 19 months later, the case settled for $825,000.
Case #5. Car Wreck Case
This case involved a woman injured in a car wreck who suffered a back injury. At first, she was represented by a lawyer in Tyler. That lawyer tried to settle her case for $32,000. Ultimately, she ended her relationship with that lawyer and was referred by a separate lawyer to Doug Monsour. Doug immediately realized the offer to settle the case for $32,000 was way too low and sent a letter withdrawing it. Doug immediately took her treating doctors deposition and established the severity of her injuries. Within a few months, Doug settled the case for $125,000, the total amount of insurance available to the client.
